Ounce of Prevention is a local organization whose focus is to increase breast cancer awareness and support systems through fundraising and events.
Co-founded by Jennifer Houin and Jessica Oliver, Ounce of Prevention's impact is dependent upon the various events throughout the year and the many volunteers who help pull them together.
Ounce of Prevention Donates Back to the Community
Ounce of Prevention is proud to announce the 2017-18, $1000.00 OOP Scholarship recipient, Miss Bailey Eveland, a senior at PHS. Bailey will be attending Hanover College in Hanover Indiana this fall to further her academic and athletic goals. We had a total of 24 applications received and enjoyed learning about each of them and how they were affected by cancer. The Ounce of Prevention was started in 2003 when our family lost our maternal and paternal Grandmother to this dreaded disease. We found it in our hearts to make a difference in our community and started raising money for those that have been touched by cancer. 100% of all of our donations go back into our community.
